It’s been a while since we’ve introduced a new Nerd, and so we’re extra excited to bring you this most recent edition of Meet the Nerds! Garren McKelvey was recently hired in the role of Field Service Technician, so if you need onsite help, there’s a good change you’ll meet Garren (not to be confused with Darrin, our Chief Nerd). With his love of travel, cats, and all things nerdy, he fits right in. Here are his responses to our “fun facts” questionnaire:
What’s your favorite local restaurant?
Juans Flying Burrito (on Magazine)
Star Wars or Star Trek?
Apples and Oranges. But Star Trek. It represents a human race that has put countries and bigotry aside to create one earth and one human race. [Editor’s note: Good point, but we disagree with your choice!]
Muses
What’s your dream vacation destination?
Fiji. Though I will be spending this next April on the beaches in Buenos Aires, so that’s pretty close.
PlayStation or XBox?
Neither. I’m a computer gamer. Though I do own a playstation 3 I only use it for Netflix, Hulu Plus, and watching blue rays.
Favorite game:
Ever?….The Legend of Zelda (NES). Current? I’m really enjoying Wildstar (CPU) right now.
Android or iPhone?
I prefer the Android, though I have no complaints about the iPhone. [Editor’s note: Android is consistently the preferred Nerd smartphone, since you often ask!]
What’s your favorite Saints player?
*shrug* I don’t really know any Saints players names except Drew Brees and I have no opinion on him one way or another. [Editor’s note: We really don’t know how to respond to this.]
City Park or Audubon Park?
Audubon Park. I got married there.
What’s your favorite poboy shop?
Guys Po-Boys. Best in New Orleans.
Do you have any pets?
Favorite phone app?
Clash of Clans
Microscope or telescope?
Telescope. The best way to learn about ourselves is to look out to the stars.
Bonus fun fact:
I travel a lot. I’ve been to every state in America, plus Canada, England, Ireland, Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon, Spain, and France. I’ve already booked a trip to Argentina and Uruguay next year and I have plans for Iceland and the Czech Republic the year after that. I hope to never stop moving for the rest of my life.
